There are over 700 Delta Gamma living in Fairfield County.  We are proud to have so many of them active in our chapter -- some young ladies just out of school and others who have already celebrated 50 years of sisterhood.

What We Do Together

Our calendar is planned to meet the interests of all our alumnae, from the youngest chapter members fresh out of college to the more seasoned alumnae celebrating many years of sisterhood with DG.  Lots of our activities are "just for fun" such as apple picking, dining out, pottery painting, etc.  But we all 'Do Good' because it is our nature.  We've participated three consecutive years at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Sherwood Island in Westport, contributing funds to the American Cancer Society's fight and standing side by side with our survivor sisters in support of their personal battle against the disease.   We also give from our treasury after the bills are paid to local philanthropies each year ... often upwards of $1,000 ... to organizations such as Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Prevent Blindness Connecticut, the Center for Women and Families, etc.  In 2004 we offered financial support for the new chapter house at UConn and had a brick printed up for the Commemorative Brick Walkway and Gardens at EO honoring our chapter's establishment.  It is what we do together as women and Delta Gammas that makes us proud of to be a part of this chapter.

Panhellenic Involvement

Our chapter is a member of the Fairfield County Panhellenic Chapter.  Each year we participate in a fundraiser for this group that helps support a scholarship which is awarded to a deserving college junior that is a resident of Fairfield County and a member of a National Panhellenic Sorority.  For more information, please feel free to contact our vp: Panhellenic, Shari Aser, seaser@us.ibm.com.

Membership Dues

When you pay local dues, we forward your individual (per capita) dues to EO on your behalf to cover your financial responsibility to the Fraternity on a national level.  The remainder of the dues we collect we use locally for mailings (e.g., to cover the cost of printing this newsletter and the postage to mail it to 700+ Delta Gamma alumnae living in Fairfield County), refreshments served at events, to help defray the full expense of Founders Day luncheon, dues we pay into a regional Delta Gamma fund, Convention fees, special needs as they arise – the list is long.

YOU CAN PAY AT THE BRONZE, PINK OR BLUE DUES LEVELS:

              BLUE:  $40.00

              PINK:  $60.00

              BRONZE:  $80.00

Give whatever amount you feel is appropriate for you.  If you can’t come to any events, perhaps you can support our chapter more in the financial area, so go for BRONZE.  If you are just out of school, give yourself a break and pay for BLUE.  We recognize this is a personal choice.

50-year members pay local dues only; they should subtract $19.00 from the above totals to achieve that level (i.e., Blue is $40.00 - $19.00 = $21.00).  All dues paying members will be listed in our newsletter throughout the year.

Please contact Susan Coyne for more details on how to pay your dues for the year 2006 - 2007 at smcoyne@snet.net.
